In Bagatelle we see the results of crossing some of the great sires of the breed: Jazz, Donnerhall and Zeoliet. She has developed into a powerful filly with the movement which marks her as a dressage prospect. We backed last summer and she learned very quickly and impressed us every day we worked with her. With her breeding she also would make an excellent foundation mare for a breeder who wants the best genetic potential in their broodmares. We will continue to work with Bagatelle next summer (2009) to develop her potential. Bagatelle should finish 16.3 to 17 hands.
Bagatelle was awarded First Premium at the Halifax Keuring. This dark brown filly shows the expressive movement of her dam, Vaganieta. This combined with her attitude will make her an excellent candidate for either a brood mare or a sport horse. Her sire Donatelli is showing Grand Prix dressage and has two approved sons in Europe.
Donatelli is by the excellent breeding stallion Donnerhall, who combined a sports career at Grand Prix level ridden by Karin Rehbein with a remarkable breeding performance, including more than 40 approved sons. Donatelli's damsire is the stallion Pik Bube I, also known as a stallion producing dressage horses
The dam is Veganieta by Jazz. Veganieta is 170 cm keur elegible mare who was awarded the top conformation score and the second highest movement score by the KWPN in North America in 2005. She received an 8 for trot and also high marks for both walk and trot. Veganieta's dam line has produced many winning offspring including the top scoring three year old mare in Friesland in 2005.
